S. Barry Casey

Born in December in 1909; in Kennett, Missouri; S. Barry Casey was a “Mason’s Mason” who had a long and productive life in Freemasonry. He moved to Arizona in 1920; married ten years after that to Trula Elva West and had three daughters and two sons.

S. Barry Casey, a Phoenix seed dealer, was a sought out guest speaker at Masonic Lodges across Arizona speaking on various subjects as the American Constitution, history and Freemasonry. With his business he became very close with other local businesses and the community. Known for his extensive written communication to local newspapers; he shared stories from his Masonic Lectures as well as his personal opinions.

S. Barry Casey was raised a Freemason in October 1945; a Worshipful Master in 1954; raised to a 33° Freemason in January 1962; the Grand Master of Arizona in 1966; Sovereign Grand Inspector General, 33° AZ: 1977; and Grand Orator Supreme Council, 33° in 1981. Another one of his Masonic accomplishments was having nine members of his very own family members of the Paradise Valley Silver Trowel Masonic Lodge #29.
