Mr. Tim Lindquist


Tim Lindquist lives with his wife of 45 years, Sarah, in Mesa. They have two children, Nick and Todd, and three grandchildren. As a youth, Tim was active in DeMolay, being Past Master Counselor, and receiving the Chevalier Degree. Later, his son Nick drew him back to the Fraternity, and they are both active with Oriental Lodge #20 in Mesa. Both have served as Masters of Prometheus #87 and Oriental #20. Together they received Master Ritualist awards from the Grand Lodge in 2018. Tim’s career has included faculty positions in Computer Science at both Virginia Tech and Arizona State University. He has served as a Professor at ASU since 1985, and in May 2020 retires from ASU with Professor Emeritus status. He has held various research, industrial, and government appointments throughout his career. These include summer appointments with the Navy, visiting scientist with the Institute for Defense Analyses, and serving on a NATO technical team to defining software standards. He is the author of papers on program verification, testing, and software engineering for distributed, web-based, and mobile applications.
Through appointments as Associate Chair, Chair, Associate Dean and Interim Dean, he has led the design, implementation, and assessment of computer science, software engineering and information technology academic programs. For over a dozen years, he has led accreditation visits to USA Universities for ABET Computing Accreditation Commission. Tim received the PhD and MS in Computer Science from Iowa State University, and he received the BS in Math/Computer Science from Purdue University.
